The non-profit organization «GEFYRES IRINIS» was founded in 2020.
Its statutory purposes are:
The empowerment, promotion and reinforcement of the principles of respect for fellow human beings, pluralism, multi-collectivity, dialogue, social cohesion and social harmony, open society and the peaceful resolution of disputes
Highlighting the importance of protecting human rights
Highlighting the importance of education, training and science for the strengthening of the social fabric and the progress of humanity
The continuous effort to deal with social problems and social conflicts in Greece and the world with the aim of achieving social reconciliation.
The undertaking of social contribution actions to those who are in need and need help
Gathering and providing assistance, financial and otherwise, to people in need in emergency situations in Greece but also in foreign countries (fires, natural disasters, etc.) as well as to the needy, the elderly, etc.
Highlighting the positive participation of refugees and immigrants in Greek and more generally in Western societies and the continuous effort to integrate them into Greek society
Understanding refugee-immigrant related problems and addressing stereotypes and negative targeting of refugees
The company seeks to achieve its objectives through the following means:
The undertaking, preparation, organization of educational programs related to the above purposes (whether in person, or remotely, or with a modern or asynchronous method)
The preparation, drafting, undertaking, organization of communication policies related to the above purposes (and by all possible means, in particular through the creation of blogs and websites that will function as platforms for the development of dialogue and the formulation of positions in relation to the above mentioned purposes)
The preparation and organization of conferences, gatherings, discussions, round tables, speeches, reports, courses, seminars on subjects related to the above purposes
The organization of fundraisers (as provided by Greek legislation, as applicable) with a charitable nature and in relation to the above-mentioned purposes
The undertaking of social actions to deal with humanitarian crises and to support those in need, as mentioned above
Cooperation with international and Greek bodies, with the Greek State, with organizations (domestic and foreign), with companies and private bodies and always in relation to the above mentioned purposes
Fundamental Values
RESPECT FOR HUMAN RIGHTS – EMPHASIS ON THE PROTECTION OF HUMAN RIGHTS A basic principle of the Hizmet movement is that every human being has value as a human being. All men must be equal before the law. No man is superior to another. Members of the movement believe that there should be absolute respect for all human rights and freedoms, as detailed in the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The movement also believes that true equality cannot exist without true social justice and equality of opportunity among all members of society.
RESPECT FOR LAW AND LAWS For members of the Hizmet movement, no one is above the law. A basic principle of the movement is absolute respect for the laws and regulations of the countries where they live and operate. The legal entities established by the members of the movement are managed with complete transparency, in accordance with the respective national rules.
A PEACEFUL MOVEMENT The Hizmet movement is a peaceful movement. It categorically rejects the use of violence as a means to achieve any goal.
THE STRENGTHENING OF THE PUBLIC ROLE OF WOMEN The movement practically supports the ever wider public presence of women in all aspects and fields of social life and the provision of women perhaps opportunities with men.
ETHICAL STAND The members of the movement consider it very important to constantly observe the ethical rules of the movement in all their activities. They place particular emphasis on values such as honesty, sincerity, reliability and self-respect. They believe that only by legal means can one achieve correct and just goals.
RESPECTING PLURALISM, DIVERSITY AND OTHER OPINIONS Service participants fully embrace the different. They even consider it an element of social wealth (provided, of course, that it is not directed against fundamental human rights). They respect other religions, different ideas and cultures. They believe that such differences should not lead to conflicts.
VOLUNTEERING Participation in the movement is purely voluntary. The decision to leave the movement is equally free. The members of the Hizmet movement participate either with voluntary work, or with financial offers and donations within the framework of their capabilities and in projects that are always related to the basic values of the movement, always for the benefit of society as a whole.
CONSULTATION Members of the movement are constantly involved in processes of consultation with other members of the movement, where different views and thoughts of common interest are contrasted and critically examined, guided by common sense.
PARTICIPATION IN POLITICAL LIFE - INDEPENDENCE The Hizmet movement is a non-governmental movement that operates independently and autonomously from the state and from any state authority and authority. It is not an annex of the state, nor is it connected to any political formation. The movement considers very important the active, unguarded and completely free participation of citizens in democratic processes. Hizmet members completely reject the instrumentalization and politicization of religion.
ACTIVE CITIZENS AND SOCIAL PARTICIPATION The members of the movement see active participation in social actions as an important political action and take it as their responsibility to try to solve social problems. They see themselves as members of the single family of humanity. One is their goal and one is their constant anxiety: to be able to constantly serve their fellow man.
Environmental Protection Environmental protection is a priority for the Hizmet movement. The members of the movement consider it their duty to future generations to safeguard our planet with all its ecosystems.
DEALING WITH MAN IN HIS WHOLENESS (BODY - MIND - HEART) Man is a being with three dimensions: physical, material and spiritual. Hizmet members consider it important to meet all human needs. The aim of the movement is the comprehensive development of existence through spiritual and scientific methods and through spiritual self-discipline.
